MS5611 Atmospheric Pressure Sensor The barometric sensor, also commonly known as the barometric air pressure sensor (BAP), is a type of engine management sensor commonly found on many vehicles. It is responsible for measuring the atmospheric pressure of the environment that the vehicle is driving in.

There are two basic categories of analog pressure sensors, Force collector types These types of electronic pressure sensors generally use a force collector (such a diaphragm, piston, bourdon tube, or bellows) to measure strain (or deflection) due to applied force over an area (pressure).

How does a barometric pressure sensor work?
MS5611 Atmospheric Pressure Sensor measure fluctuations in the P exerted by the atmosphere. The require protection from condensing humidity, precipitation, and water ingress.
To operate, most pressure transducers require an electrical input (usually called excitation). Many operate from a 5- to 10-Vdc input and produce full-scale outputs from, say, 0 to 20 mV and 0 to 100 mV. Transducers that produce high level voltage outputs operate from voltage sources.
